The idea for Ozone was born in a typical Kelly O fashion; dream, manifest, make-it-happen. She heard her community and she knew they wanted better ‘bar food’ and pre-covid hours, a place to gather and dine. When the space at Fowler Road became available, it was a no-brainer. Kelly O already occupies the opposite end of the plaza with one of her diner locations, the third in the Pittsburgh area. Ozone Bar and Grill started to take shape in the summer of 2024, and the mother daughter duo behind the brand begin work on interior design. Bringing to fruition mixes of their favorite wants and needs of a full-service restaurant with a very imaginative pintrest board vision.
Our Story
The ‘O’ in all of the Kelly O’s group names stems from Kelly’s last name, O’Connor. For as long as Seana can remember, her mother has used the nickname Kelly O, even telling Seana as a kid she would one day own a restaurant under the monicker. Kelly says the ‘O’ in Ozone stands for a full-circle moment, and she can give you list of ones that have changed her life. Her most recent full-circle moment? Opening her second restaurant in her hometown of Warrendale, Pennsylvania. Other notable full-circle moments include a number of television appearances, most notably on Food Networks “Diner’s, Drive-in’s, and Dive’s”, with Guy Fieri twice.
Family owned and operated, Ozone Bar and Grill & Kelly O’s diners, are fully women owned. Working beside Kelly O, is her daughter, Seana Lois. The dynamic duo is the perfect blend of yin and yang. Pictured here as a young single mother, Kelly O and Seana moved all over the east coast before returning home to Pittsburgh in 1998 after the death of her ex-husband.
Their story is filled with twists and turns that read like a novel of tragedy and triumph, and both make sure they focus on the triumph. Kelly O’s was established in 2001, and the rest, as they say, is history.
